Group Compliance Officer

Our client is one of the worlds leading specialty chemical companies listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

The Group Compliance Officer provides global leadership on compliance and ethics. He oversees all compliance programs across the firm and will ensure the company meets its commitment towards stake- and shareholders to adhere to high ethical standards in all business undertakings

He will implement all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the objectives of the company’s compliance program. Being the focal point for all global compliance activities and programs, he/she will plan implement and monitor the compliance program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the assessment of organizational risk for misconduct an non-compliance (e.g. prevention of bribery, conflict of interest, export control, etc.)
  • Establish organization objectives for the compliance function
  • Design and run processes relating to the use of agents
  • Lead the company’s compliance efforts with respect to legislative and regulatory development affecting corporate governance
  • Keep the company at the leading edge of industry and business community compliance standards worldwide
  • Design and drive the Compliance training and education program globally
  • Review and update as appropriate the company’s principles of business conduct and ensure they are made available to the organization
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support the region and Country Compliance Officers
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, local Compliance Officers and HR to respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations and policies
  • Design the framework for a disciplinary body on Group Level

Key Qualifications

  • Bar Exam (Swiss or foreign equivalent)
  • Several years of experience as in a compliance officer role in an international organization or in a specialized law firm or compliance consultancy
  • Experience gained in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry an asset
  • Experience with the development of the critical compliance contents and set up of relevant processes
  • Familiar with acting as a major gateway for the implementation of compliance at a strategic and operational level
  • Excellent command of the English and German language
