For our client, a successful U.S. based Biotech Company listed at the NYSE we are looking for an Accounting Manager to be based in Switzerland. In this role, you will be responsible for the accounting and treasury of the group’s Swiss-based entity.

You will be closely collaborating with your counterparts in the U.S. and regularly travel to the East Coast to ensure a trusted and efficient collaboration. In cooperation and with the support of external resources you will be in charge of the following

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the month-end accounting close for the Switzerland parent under both statutory and global guidelines
  • Prepares statements of monthly financial data in compliance with local statutory and US Global requirements including income statement and balance sheets
  • Responsible for coordination and communication of local tax matters and filings with the Company’s tax consultant
  • Responsible for the Swiss treasury function (cash management and accounts payable processes) and banking relationship
  • Responds to special financial requests and analysis and communicates potential problem areas. Conducts financial reviews/analysis as requested
  • With the assistance of local service providers, assists with general human resource requirements, including Swiss payroll and pension matters
  • Prepares all relevant documentation and coordinate annual and periodic external audits
  • Responsible to establish (on his own or via consultant) accounting memos for certain transactions under Swiss Code of Obligation for statutory purposes
  • Accountable for establishing and maintaining an environment of proper procedures and policies to support a strong internal control framework in adherence to Sarbanes Oxley

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting roles
  • Strong working knowledge of the Swiss Code of Obligations and IFRS and experience in working with separate general ledgers for Group and Statutory accounting. Public accounting experience, as well as US GAAP knowledge, is a plus
  • Experience in year-end closing procedures and establishing statutory Financial Statements (with FX Statements is a plus)
  • Preference for experience with Oracle ERP
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills, ability to deliver financial data in a user-friendly and relevant manner
  • Ability to logically plan, organize and complete work assignments in individual and team settings
