Senior Compliance Manager

For our client, a Biotech Company developing novel treatments for patients suffering from rare and life-threatening diseases, we are looking for a Compliance Manager.

In this role, you will be part of a small legal team reporting to the VP, Legal Affairs & Compliance EMEA. You will be supporting a committed team and support the roll-out and implementation of the company’s Compliance Strategy.

The role offers an interesting career and development perspective with a lot of flexibility in terms of working hours and place of work and the possibility to travel up to 3-4 times per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance policies and manage adaptation and implementation of parent company policies
  • Support for compliance initiatives structure and simplify compliance tools
  • Collaborate with other departments of the company
  • Support procurement team to ensure compliance plus appropriate data collection/processing across multiple functions and vendors
  • Contribute to the collaboration with global partners and external advisors to support EMEA policies (e.g., EFPIA, GDPR)
  • Monitor and support charitable spending processes and “watch list” systems
  • Manage and implement training programs. Responsible for analyzing, measuring, and evaluating training programs for effectiveness and ensuring they are meeting training objectives
  • Provide general project management leadership for the Compliance function
  • Create, track and monitor appropriate metrics for the compliance department
  • Support the Head Legal & Compliance to identify areas, which may represent an ethical & compliance or reputational risk

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (life sciences, public policy, marketing, business, or related discipline preferred)
  • 6 + years of healthcare industry experience or related experience working in a regulated function (Compliance, R&D, med affairs or commercial team)
  • Knowledge of and experience in the healthcare legal and regulatory environment, as it relates to healthcare compliance in the bio/pharma industry (Efpia Code, anti-kickback, government fraud and abuse, GDPR)
  • Direct experience with pharma/biotech regulations governing clinical, research or commercial activities, either in healthcare provider or manufacturer setting
  • Fluency in English, additional fluency in other European languages a plus
